“Peace Through Understanding”, the 1964-1965 New York World’s Fair’s motto, is something to live by. The 1964 World’s Fair has inspired millions of people, as it does inspire me up until this day to create a better future. The technological innovations of the Space Age are presented at this fair, fueling a positive attitude towards a Jetsons-like future. Further, being a great admirer of Walt Disney, the close connection between Disney and the 1964 World’s Fair, makes this World’s Fair like no other.
That being said, I have collected some authentic artifacts and souvenirs from the 1964 World’s Fair. The book The 1964-1965 New York World’s Fair by Bill Cotter and Bill Young is an illustrative addition to the collection (see Literature Collection).
In the first picture, a miniature replica of the Unisphere is shown, together with a metallic plate, and glasses.
Below you can see some more souvenirs, including a tobacco tray and a Jim Beam bottle.
In the picture below, you see two posters to promote the 1964-1965 New York World’s Fair. What makes these special is that these are authentic, and not copies.
